The Miami Airport is full of art. Pay special attention to the Brazilian murals decorating the walls in the South Terminal along with the artistic reminder that All We Need is Love in Terminal D.
While the Miami Airport has three lounges, the best food is found at the Centurion Lounge where Miami's top chefs Michelle Bernstein oversees food preparation. This lounge also features showers if you need to freshen up before a long trip.
Children adore playing in the children's area called Plane Fun located on Concourse E. They can pretend to fly a plane there, try out the job of being an airport traffic controller or pretend to ride in a hot air balloon. The exhibits in this area are created by the award-winning Miami Children's Museum. MIAMamma Suites throughout the airport make great places to nurse a baby in privacy, and they are big enough to hold a small family.

History of Miami International Airport
The first airport in Miami opened on 36th Street in 1928, and it was the first airport to have a dedicated passenger terminal in the United States. Voters passed the first airport-revenue bond in the United States allowing the newly formed Miami-Dade Aviation Department to start construction on a new airport in 1948. Today, the airport services over 21 million passengers on 80 different airlines.
